We discussed the rumor on July 5, 2008, but this is more than a rumor. Chad Reed has been seen (and photographed) practicing here in Southern California on a Suzuki, apparently with factory support at the track with him. Reed, now a two-time AMA Supercross champion, is in his prime as a supercross racer, and is the only rider on the planet with a hope or a prayer of keeping James Stewart honest on a supercross track. Makita Suzuki team manager Roger DeCoster knows what he is doing, and he obviously likes not only Reed’s talent, but his focus and work ethic. As we said before, the combination of DeCoster and Reed can only be good for Reed (and Suzuki). Watch our Industry News Release page for official word from Suzuki and/or Reed’s publicist.
