Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) clinched his ninth World championship (seventh MotoGP championship) earlier today at Sepang by finishing third in a wet race behind first place Casey Stoner (Ducati) and second place Dani Pedrosa (Honda). The Yamaha phenom further strengthened the argument he is the best motorcycle road racer in history.
A wet and tricky race saw Stoner pull away from the field early with lap times no one else could match. Pedrosa had a good gap over third place for most of the race, but Rossi closed in near the end.
