USA Wins Another Motocross of Nations

According to a Cycle News report, Team USA’s victory last weekend at the Motocross of Nations held in Denver, Colorado was its sixth in a row, and 21st overall.

Although team rookie Trey Canard (Honda) struggled with mid-pack finishes, Suzuki rider Ryan Dungey won both of his motos, and Andrew Short (Honda) took a second place in one of his to lead Team USA to a 10 point win over second place Belgium and 24 points clear of third place Germany.

Stewrat? Get real. No way was he ready. I don’t care what anyone said atthe beginning of the season. Each country must field the best team available.

  2. Steve Mac says:

Stewart is an idiot. He took himself out during the SX season and never came back. He only seems to care about Bling and his TV show these days. The AMA picked the best 3 fit and fast racers. They rode, we won.

  3. mr_dirtrider says:

To pick the best team you have to pick the riders that are performing at that time.

Dungy, Short and Canard seemed the obvious choices based on their performances late in the season. Hopefully we have a healthy Stewart next year.

  4. WFO JJames says:

Actually Team USA Manager Roger DeCoster felt the only way his Homeland Belgian Team had any chance to win was if James Stewart was not allowed to ride. It is truly sad to see politics being played in American Motocross. James is still the fastest motocrosser this world has ever seen, and good luck with KTM Roger.

  5. Vrooom says:

Turns out that Stewart might have over-estimated his importance a smidge. Nice job boys.

  6. Tom Shields says:

    …and without Bubba. Imagine that!
