COSTA MESA, CA, NOV. 10 – MotoAmerica has announced that its technical regulations for the 2016 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North America Road Racing Series have been published by the AMA and FIM North America with changes that move the MotoAmerica rules even closer to the technical regulations used in World Championship competition.

“Not a lot has changed really,” said MotoAmerica partner Chuck Aksland. “We’ve tweaked a few things to get our rules closer to those used by the FIM on the world level, but we were already fairly close when we introduced our rules package last year. Now there’s just a bit of refinement to some of those existing rules.”

Some of the highlights of the changes include: Stock triple clamps and rear suspension links must be used in the Supersport class; aftermarket or additional radiators may be used in Supersport; Supersport and Superstock 600 now share the same one-bike-with-backup-frame rule; Superstock 1000 now has a one-bike rule, though riders can have a complete back-up bike similar to the 2015 Supersport rule; there are new tire allocations in Superbike, Superstock 1000, Supersport and Superstock 600.
