Although he didn’t get pole position (that honor went to Marco Bezzecchi – Aprilia), Marc Márquez (Ducati) again came away with both the Sprint race win on Saturday and the GP race win on Sunday in Austria.
Saturday’s Sprint saw Marc come home just ahead of his brother Alex Márquez (Ducati) with Pedro Acosta (KTM) finishing third.
In Sunday’s full GP, Marc held off a late charge by Fermin Aldeguer (Ducati) with Bezzecchi finishing third.
Marc Márquez has a massive points lead in the championship with his brother sitting in second place. For full results and points for Saturday’s Sprint race, visit the MotoGP site here. For full results and points for Sunday’s MotoGP race, visit the MotoGP site here.

Can we all please agree to never again post images of Marquez showing us his tongue? Gene Simmons was enough for several lifetimes.
Total wins in the premier class (MotoGP/500cc)…..Rossi 89, Marquez 71. Number of races still to go in 2025….9. Number of races in 2026….more than 20. Nervous times ahead for Valentino!
What an awful race track. Clearly KTM knows that if the bike will go fast your riders will do well there. Yamaha obviously didn’t get that memo. It’s goofy enough that motorcycles racing on automotive race tracks are billed as a premier events. This track looks designed for drag race cars. It produces results that vaguely resemble a rain race. It reminds me of that straight rhythm spectacle they did for the motocross people where finally they raced on a track with all jumps and no corners at all. The racing version of Ow! My Balls!.
I don’t care for that track either. On the bright side, it is different enough that it does shake up the usual finishing order so variety is healthy.
FWIW, I don’t think there are any tracks on the circuit that are specifically designed for motorcycle racing. Some more suitable than others but all still primarily for auto racing.
I am so glad I didn’t renew my MotoGP membership this year. WSBK is good though.
