Calling all freestyle motocross fans . . . don’t forget to watch “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” (tonight on NBC at 11:35 PST) for another first in the world of entertainment (and motorcycling). As reported on April 15, 2002, the top riders in freestyle motocross will strut their stuff on the “newly created” FMX course on the NBC lot in Burbank, California.
Many people (including myself) felt that freestyle motocross would just fade away (after all, how many different tricks can you come up with while flying through the air on a 220 pound motorcycle?) . . . Freestyle motocross’ staying power (innovation and excitment) has proven the doubters wrong. I’m looking forward to a great show tonight.
