With Valentino Rossi complaining about how noisy his “new” bike is at Assen this weekend, it is clear that Honda has joined the open pipes brigade in MotoGP. Just another indication Honda is now grabbing as much horsepower as they can in order to keep up with the continually improving Ducati (the Ducati Capirossi has again put on pole for the MotoGP race this weekend).
If you had any doubts that Ducati was pushing Honda, Honda’s decision to run open pipes should remove it. Just recently, there were statements Honda believed the noise level of open pipes was a safety problem for its mechanics and other pit workers.
