After a stint with KTM — one that nearly resulted in a 125cc AMA motocross championship — Ryan Hughes is back on a Honda CRF450R. Hughes just won the world veterans’ championship (30 years and older) at Glen Helen here in Southern California last weekend, posting 1/1 moto scores and defeating second-place Doug Dubach in the process.
You may recall that Hughes was one of the primary development riders for Honda when the CRF450R was testing prior to production a few years ago. After his Veteran championship win, Ryan was quoted as saying he was happy to be back on a Honda and he expected to race a CRF250R outdoors next year. We expect he will again be a contender for the National title.
