Race 1 of today’s Silverstone WSB came down to a photo finish, with Regis Laconi (Ducati) edging out Troy Corser (Suzuki) by .096 second at the line to give Ducati its first win of the season. Laconi’s teammate and defending champion James Toseland (Ducati) followed the lead pair across the line in third.
The excitement continued in Race 2, where a three-way battle developed between Toseland, Corser, and Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha). Toseland emerged victorious at the finish, closely followed by Corser in second and Haga in third.
His pair of second place finishes today reinforced Corser’s solid grasp on the championship race, which he leads by 78 points over teammate Yukio Kagayama.
