With at least 18 major concussions and a reported 11 knee surgeries behind him, you might think Travis Pastrana is through racing motorcycles. Apparently not. Pastrana teamed with Mike Metzger and others to tackle the 24 hour Glen Helen off-road event this weekend. The result? Another crash and another injury for Pastrana. This time, Pastrana has a broken shoulder, which has already led to surgery.
Pastrana is not only a former National Motocross champion, he is a multi-time X-Games champion who, along with Metzger, pioneered the back-flip on a motorcycle.
Pastrana is now sponsored by Subaru, and is expected to race rally cars professionally in the future. Will he still find time for motorcycles? That probably depends on his health, but he frequently states that racing motorcycles is his first love.
