Prime Time ESPN Jump Will Take Metzger’s Celebrity to a New Level

Tomorrow night at 8:30pm Eastern Standard Time, Mike Metzger will attempt the stunt Evel Knievel so spectacularly failed to perform 38 years ago, with a backflip thrown in for good measure!

Live on the ESPN network here in the United States, Metzger’s backflip over the Caesar’s Palace fountains is sure to be watched by millions. According to Metzger, although he has practiced on the take-off ramp that will be used at Caesar’s, he will fly over the fountain just once, on live TV. Metzger states that the jump will be approximately 110 feet from take-off to landing, roughly ten feet longer than any backflip he has previously performed (with or without a fountain involved).

Mike Metzger already qualifies as an A-list celebrity among the gen-X crowd, but this stunt could help push him to legend status.
