Carlos Checa (Ducati) continued his dominance in the WSB series with another double win today at Misano. In Race 1, Checa was followed home by second place Max Biaggi (Aprilia) and third place Marco Melandri (Yamaha). Melandri crashed out of Race 2 and forced a re-start. Checa and Biaggi again sped away from the field with Checa taking the win and Biaggi finishing second. Noriyuki Haga (Aprilia) gained his first podium of the year with a third place in Race 2.
Checa has opened a massive points lead over Biaggi after 6 of 13 rounds. For additional details, results and points, visit the official WSB site.
Checa looks just about invincible. It makes you wonder given Biaggi’s dominance last year. What has happened? I have no idea…
I was thinking the same thing this morning. Apparently Ducati didn’t like being the second most dominant italian factory? Biaggi was as untouchable last year as Checa is this year.
