A near perfect weekend for Marc Marquez (Ducati) in Japan. Taking wins on both Saturday and Sunday, his only shortcoming was losing pole position to Jorge Martin (Aprilia).
Taking the lead from the first corner, Marc Marquez went on to take the Sprint win on Saturday ahead of rookie Diogo Moreira (Honda) in second and Martin in third.
Martin took the lead at the start of Sunday’s GP, and held it for several laps before being passed by Marc Marquez. This time, Martin finished second to Marquez with his teammate Marco Bezzecchi third.
Martin has a narrow two-point lead over Marquez in the championship heading into next weekend’s race in Indonesia. For full results and points for Saturday’s Sprint race, visit the MotoGP site here. For full results and points for Sunday’s MotoGP race, visit the MotoGP site here.
